Come back often for more exciting updates.![]() On March 26th, I celebrated 12 years of performing at Westcare's Healthy Families Project!! It was an awesome concert! I was joined by Rick, Amy and Sheri. Thanks so much to the group for the cake and card! Now I need 2 walls to put them all on!! The women and children of HFP are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. They are our hero's and they ROCK!!!!!!!! 2-2010 I'm proud to announce I just signed 2 of my songs, "Denver" and "American" to SMD music, with a 1-year reversion clause. Thanks for believing, SMD Music!! On January 29th 2010, the concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was held. Special thanks to Rick for providing the drinks and sweets to the group, and the stuffed animals. They loved it! There was JC Clark, Myself. Rick Blanc.Erlamtz McGuerra, BIg Mike and special guest Sherie, who did a bang up job on her cover tunes! Rick hosted the event, and it went great! We look forward to our February concert, and many more to come. The women and children at Westcare are our hero's!!! Many blessings to all On January 7th, I performed 12 of my original songs at Larry's Hide-A-Way, thanks to my longtime good friend, Bobby Kingston. Thanks also to Bobby's talented band of musicians; Dave on bass, Jerry on lead, and Brett on drums. It was an awesome evening! Special thanks to my friends for showing up and supporting my show! I'm looking forward to doing this again in the near future. I'll keep you posted!! On December 11th, Matt, Rick, big Mike, Erlantz, and Amy Oeberg performed at Westcare's Healthy Families Project. It was a great concert, and we were treated with some awesome singing from members of the group! What talent! We wish a very Merry Christmas, Hanakkuh, and whatever Holiday season they celebrate! We're looking forward to the new year, and many more concerts at Westcare. The women and children provide us with hero's to look up to, and are in our thoughts and prayers daily. The November concert at Healthy Families Project was a tremendous success! There was a great lineup of artists for the birthday celebration (Rick's on the 16th and mine on the 17th). Besides Rick and myself, there was: JC Clark, Big Mike, Lantz Muguira, Kelcy Lee, Brittany and Harley. My dad, Doug Dorman (who still performs over 5 nursing home concerts a week in Michigan!) was our special guest. Thanks, Dad! We also had a young lady from the group sing a Jonas Brothers song! What talent! The concert was held outdoors, thanks to God (for the great weather) and our friends for bringing blankets. Kay and Brian, Peri and John donated over 12 blankets to the group! They also provided the refreshments and cupcakes. Thanks so much! This concert series wouldn't be possible without all of you! I'm so blessed for you all and couldn't begin to repay your kindness. Thanks to Rick for over 5 years of fabulous support, bringing his PA system, and his awesome songs! "Look To You" is my all time fav! Lantz was "clocked" this concert. He was given the clock that was awarded to our troupe for our performances. We pass the clock on to a new band member each concert, so it stays in the family. We keep the women and children of Westcare in our thoughts and prayers. They are truly our hero's. God bless. Thanks for the awesome cards, cake, and for being the best audience on the planet!!!! The October concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was not only a great time, but it was Rick's 5th anniversary of performing for the group. YAY RICK! Rick brought my shows to the next level when he came on board back in 2004. He's brought some awesome friends to perform with us, like big Mike, Ad Astra, Erlantz, and more. We are so blessed to have him performing faithfully for the past 5 years, and look forward to many years to come. Thanks again, Rick, you Rock! We were joined by my good friend, and former lead singer for the "Tackroom Boys", JC Clark himself! JC and I go back almost 20 years to open mic nights at the Idle Spurs Tavern. We loved having his great vocals and want him to join us in concert any time he can make it. And, our 'little girl' has come home! Just kidding, Kelcy! You're taller than I am! We missed Kelcy, and her tremendous performances. She had the group on their feet most of the night. Kelcy also presented Rick with the "clock", in honor of his anniversary celebration. Welcome back!! Thanks to the best audience in the world; the women and children at Westcare's Healthy Families Project. Thanks to Mr. Geddes, Dee Wirth, and all the staff that support our concerts. We can't wait for the November 13th concert. It'll celebrate Ricks, mine, and Perri's birthdays. By the way, tonight we celebrated the 5th birthday for our friend, Gabby. Happy Birthday!!! The first one was the monthly Healthy Familes Project concert, which was a smashing success, thanks to Rick and big Mike. Everyone had a great time! We look forward to next month, which will be Rick's 5th anniversary of performing at Westcare! The second concert was Saturday night at the monthly writer's night at the Boulevard Bar and Grill. There was myself, host Rick Blanc, and Ad Astra. It was another great time, with a large crowd that stuck it out with us to the end. It was great to have my good friend, JC Clark come up and perform "Amarillo By Morning" with me. Just like old times at the Idle Spurs!! August 14, 2009 The August concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was like a blast from the past! We've had some awesome artists come through those doors and perform with us, but this t ime it was myself, Rick Blanc, and Big Mike McKiski. The courtyard was packed with our hero's; the women and children of Westcare. We look forward to September's concert. Many many blessings to the group, and to my great friends Rick and Mike. Thanks for making this an event to be remembered forever. The July 09 concert at Westcare was a great concert. All in all, another fabulous concert!!!! We look forward to the August concert. Many many blessings to the women and children at Westcare's Healthy Families Project, The June 2009 concert at Westcare's Healthy families Project was beyond our wildest expectations! We were going to perform indoors, but it was so nice outside we set up there and had a blast! There was myself, Rick Blanc, Big Mike, Lantz, Kelcey Lee, and 2nd Time Around (Sean and Carlos). The PA went out, so we had some creative adjustments to make, including some acoustic sets, which made the show even better! As the sun set, we were still going strong, playing to a wonderful audience of women and children who are always the best audience in the world! We're really looking forward to July's concert, and hope it's not too hot, so we can perform in the courtyard again! Many blessings to the women, children, and staff at HFP. The May concert at Healthy Families was a memorable one, to say the least. We were without our friend, Rick Blanc, because his wife Kim had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl, Madison!!! We really missed Rick, and look forward to meeting the newest member of our family! The group made a beautiful card for Rick. We were joined in concert by Carlos and Sean, aka "Second Time Around" and Kelcey Lee. We're blessed with their unselfish and awesome talent, plus they make us laugh with their antics! Kelcey Lee was awarded the "clock" and promised to bring it back next month!! (inside joke). Many blessings to the women and children of Healthy Families Project. The April '09 concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was held outside in the courtyard. What a great show! There was Matt, Rick Blanc, Big Mike, Kelcey Lee, 2nd Time Around, and Brittany. The crowd was phenomenal, and on their feet for almost every song. We are truly blessed beyond words to perform for this wonderful group of women and children. We're looking forward to the May 15th concert. On Friday, March 13th, Matt celebrated 11 years of performing at Westcare's Healthy Families Project. There was a packed house. Performers included Matt, Rick Blanc, Big Mike, Lance Muguira, Kelcy Lee, and Sean and Carlos, aka: 2nd Time Around. The group presented a HUGE cake and card to Matt for his efforts. While Matt's been there the longest, this incredible concert series wouldn't be possible without his friends and their undying support for the women and children. Rick Blanc is the best thing to come into Matt's life, musically, in a long time. Rick has been with Matt performing for about 4 years!! The women and children of HFP are always in our prayes, and they are our HERO'S!!!! ![]() On March 7th, Matt had the great honor of performing at a benefit for Daryl Turk and family. Daryl is being treated for leukemia. Thankfully, Daryl was able to attend the event, in which many friends and family attended. The pot luck dinner had more food than the over 100 guests could possibly eat. Donations to the family were made, and guest artists performed. The event was hosted by Rick Blanc, who is a good friend of Daryl and his family. There was a 'quilt' on which messages of love were posted for Daryl, also. Here's some pictures of the event. Daryl and his family are in our thoughts and prayers. The February concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was awesome, baby!! There was Matt, Rick, Lance, Mike, and special guest Kelcy Lee. We're blessed to have such a great audience! Thanks to all who performed, and to Kay and Brian Laub for the food and drink. Matt was presented a card for his son, Jason, who recently had a biopsy. The next concert (our 10 year anniversary) will be on March 13th. The women and children of Healthy Families are our hero's! God bless them all!!! They are in our thoughts and prayers daily. The January '09 concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was a smashing success! We had special guests "Second Time Around". She did Shania Twain's "Man, I Feel Like A Woman", and another beautiful Twain ballad. She also performed Cheryl Crow's "My Favorite Mistake". Then there was Mike, and his guest, (who's name escapes me, but I'll get it and add it. I was only told 3 times!) Both him and Mike performed some awesome songs! Of course, Mike did "Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire", and "Row Your Boat". Thanks, guys! That thing at the end was kewl! Rick Blanc did his favorite original songs, and a crowd favorite "Kryptonite". I also performed the Eagles "Peaceful Easy Feeling". 3 songs! We had so many awesome guests, I actually got the chance of sitting back, and watching a great show! The women and children of Healthy Families are in our thoughts and prayers. The Christmas concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was a memorable one, to say the least. There was Matt, Rick, Mike, and Shelly even showed up and sang a tune. The women sang Christmas carols to the band! There was plenty of cake, cookies, and candy canes to go around! The women and children of HFP are in our thoughts and prayers even more so on the holidays. The November concert at Healthy Families was great on many levels. First, it was the celebration of Matt and Rick's birthdays; Matt's 50th. Then, Matt's dad, singer/songwriter Doug Dorman performed for the group. Matt's brothers Alan and Darryl were also in attendance. A family reunion, two birthdays, two cakes, and an awesome time!! We can't wait until the December holiday concert on December 19th. The September concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was a smashing success! With Rick Blanc, Matt, Shelly and Brittany performing. The next concert is October 4th. 7-28-08 Matt is pleased to announce the new cd by Scott Davis is done! It's called "Country Ways". Matt's song "Just One Dance" is on the cd. We wish Scott and his band the best of success. More news on where to buy the cd will be posted later. Matt has signed his song "Love'll Do That" with RDSD/BMI publishing recently, and found out today they are also going to sign an exclusive contract for his song "Fear On Fear". On July 18th, the latest concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was held. Matt, Rick and Mike were the artists that night. Mike was passed "the clock". He also did an interesting and catchy rendition of "Row Your Boat". Rick's originals are getting lots of requests, as the girls know every word, and sing them back to him! We had a special guest singer, Brittany. She performed Matt's original "Never Say Never" and got a standing ovation! As the summer reaches its apex, we look forward to our October "Fall Into Recovery" concert for the whole building. The date and time are still in the works, as are the set lists, but we plan to rock the place!! As always, the women and children are in our thoughts and prayers. They are our heros!! 5-30 On May 30th, Matt, Rick Blanc, Betsy Holm, and special guest Mike, performed at Westcare's Healthy Families Project. There were more women and children there than at any concert to date! First, Matt presented Rick with the clock that was awarded to "Matt Dorman and Friends" for their volunteer work, then Matt started the concert with "Never Say Never" and the fun began. Rick and Betsy performed their fav original and cover tunes. Mike performed a kewl version of "Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air", and the place went wild!! The concert was topped off with a duet. Betsy and Rick performed the Cheryl Crow, Kid Rock hit song "Picture". 5-02 Matt, Betsy Holm, and Rob Lam performed at Westcare's Healthy Families Project. It was a great time for all. We were blessed to have Kay and Brian Laub as our special guests. They provided muffins, water and juice for the group. Thanks so much!! Matt passed along the clock that was awarded to him and his performing friends for their years of volunteer work. Next concert, the clock will be passed to Rick Blanc. Rick promises he'll be at the next concert, and we're looking forward to his return. Rob Lam is an excellent performer, and we welcome him back to our troupe. Rob performed with us years ago at the Healthy Families Project campus on Apricot Lane. Many blessings to the women and children at HFP!!! 4-08 On Friday, April 25th, Westcare held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Matt was presented with an engraved clock for his efforts. Matt announced his "Spring Into Recovery" and "Fall Into Recovery" concert series. The details are still being worked out, but it's planned as a twice a year event for the whole Westcare campus. Matt is in negotiations with the Randy Anderson Band to perform at this event. 3-08 The 9th anniversary concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was one of the best ever! There was myself, Rick Blanc, and Betsy Holm, playing our original songs and favorite cover tunes. To perform for such a wonderful group of women and children is beyond a blessing. The group made a HUGE cake (with my fav frosting) and a beautiful card, that was signed by all. We look forward to next month's concert, and many more to come. Matt Dorman 12-07 Matt and Rick Blanc performed the Christmas concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project on December 21st. It was an awsome concert, with both Rick and Matt performing their originals, and favorite covers, such as "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and "Kryptonite". T hey also sang Christmas carols with the group. 01-08 On January 18th, Rick, Matt and Betsy Holm performed the first concert of 2008. The concert was another great time. This March will mark the 9th anniversary of this concert series. February will be the Valentine's concert, where it's cookies with pink frosting for all. The November birthday concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was another awesome event! Matt, Rick Blanc, and Betsy Holm performed for a packed house. There was cake and ice cream, and lots of sugared-up kids!! Congrats to the lucky winner of the Fender Dreadnaught guitar package! The next concert is scheduled for December 21st. 10-07 The September concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was another great event. Matt, Rick Blanc, and Betsy Holm performed for a packed house. It's truly a blessing to perform for such a wonderful group of women and children. 8-25-07 Matt is pleased to announce his song "How Did You Love?" is going to be signed to a single-song contract ( with a two year reversion) soon, to America's New Artist Music/BMI. This is Matt's second publishing contract this year. His song "Dreams" is still on the Roots International charts. 8-07 The August concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was awsome!! Matt, Rick Blanc, and Betsy Holm performed to a packed house. We really appreciate Betsy Joining us for these concerts. Rick Blanc has been with us for over a year, and he's another blessing for this concert series. Congrats to Jan, the winner of the Fender acoustic guitar package. Warner released Matt's song "Dreams" on April 1st, worldwide. Dreams debuted on the charts at number 12, right next to Kenny Chesney! Cheryl and Matt have high hopes for "Dreams". The girls put their names in a jar to see who would win the Fender guitar package, donated by Matt. The lucky winner was Holly. She promises to learn alot of songs and soon join in on the concert series! Congrats Holly!! It's a true blessing for us to be playing these concerts. We hooked up the P.A. system and did our Christmas favorites, including some of our originals and cover tunes. As always, the Pizza Hut song was the highlight of the night! With generous donations from The ISEC Foundation, Great Clips, and others, there was plenty of good food, drinks, and gifts to go around. We are looking forward to next year's concerts already! Thanks to Rick Blanc, and Larry Allen, we manage to put on a pretty good show for the crowd. Thanks also to special guests Elisa Furr, and Jackie Carlyle. We're keeping the women and children in our thoughts and prayers through the year, and especially this Holiday season. You can order your copy of the cd, with Matt's song "Denver" on it, at Ricks website www.rickblanc.com 11-17-06 Friday the 17th of November, Matt, Rick Blanc, and Larry Allen performed their monthly concert at Westcare's Healthy Families Project. The 17th was Matt's birthday, and the day before was Rick's birthday, so Westcare provided a birthday cake for them. The women and staff had signed two huge birthday cards for Rick and Matt. There were flowers sent by Rod and Linda Hall from California. It was the best concert they had performed. Matt announced his new cut "Just One Dance" on a cd by artist Scott Davis. He also performed the song. Rick performed "The Pizza Hut Song" and the place went wild!!! Larry closed the night with his touching "We're All Recovering". Matt's daughter, Brittany performed Matt's song "Never Say Never" (click here to view). She did a great job. 11-4-06 The monthly concerts at Westcare's Healthy Families Project are going great! We've just had our October concert. Matt was joined by artists Rick Blanc, and Larry Allen. The next concert is scheduled for November 17th. We can't wait. Cake and Ice cream are being served to celebrate Rick (Nov 16th) and Matts' (Nov 17th) birthdays. Sorry no photo's of the last few concerts. We promise some from the November event. 8-4-06 Matt, Rick Blanc, and Larry Allen at August 4th concert at the Healthy Families Project. 7-7-06 The July 7th concert at Healthy Families Project was a great time! Matt and Rick Blanc performed songs from their catalogs. This was one of the best concerts to date. 5-20-06 The new Rick Blanc, "Vertigo" is out! This cd includes matt's song "Denver". While the cd isn't currently available for sale, we'll keep you posted as to when it will be. One of the first places it will become available is on Rick Blanc's Burnlounge site. The highlight of the night was when Elisa was singing an upbeat Celine Dion song, and one of the babies was kicking her feet and clapping her hands in perfect timing to the song! This little girl was about 6 months old! (a future star? hmmm...) Performing at the Healthy Families Project is always a touching and humbling experience. Our thoughts and prayers are always with the ladies and children of this wonderful program, that changes lives daily. Matt and Rick Blanc performed for a packed room. We're looking forward to December's concert! 10-14-05 The concert tonight at Westcare's Healthy Families Project was a huge success! Matt performed some of HFP's most requested songs, and had some special guest artists. Rick Blanc, who has Matt's song "Denver" on his upcoming C.D., "Vertigo" was there, with his friend, Larry Allen, playing guitar. Rick performed songs from his new cd, including "Denver". Rick's performance was awsome, and kept the audience mesmerized. Another guest artist, Elisa Furr, sang songs from Journey, Dixie Chicks, and more! Elisa also did a PERFECT Celine Dion impersonation with a few high-reaching (vocally) songs that had the girls cheering. The sad songs were so real, there wasn't a dry eye in the audience. 10/05 - Matt Dorman has been told the name of the Rick Blanc cd release due out next spring will be "Vertigo". Matt is hoping his song "Denver" will be the first release to radio. Rick performed with Matt on Friday, 10-14-05 at a concert for the Westcare girl's recovery home. At that concert, Rick said he anticipates using "Denver" as the first single release. Click HERE to view this site. 8/22/05 - Artist Rick Blanc is back from Nashville after recording his first cd. The cd (still untitled) was recorded at the Sound Kitchen, one of Nashville's premier recording studios. Matt's song "Denver" is on that cd. Rick sent a copy of "Denver" from the studio session to Matt, and it sounds GREAT!! Best of luck to Rick with the cd release, which should hit stores and radio sometime early in '06. Click HERE to view their site. 6/7/05 - Matt Dorman is proud to announce his song "Denver" is going to be released next spring. The artist, Rick Blanc, is a very talented artist with alot of promise. Look for RIck to be tearing up the charts with his music. Rick chose "Denver' from many songs sent to him from some of the best songwriters around. Let's hope the song becomes a single release, and makes the radio. More to follow! 3/2004 -Randy Anderson's new cd "Hello Everybody, We're Back!" is now available! The cd features 12 songs. 9 are cover tunes that Randy performs nightly in his live show, and three are original songs. On this cd is a song co written by Matt Dorman and Randy Anderson, called "Lucky Guy". It's already getting requests nightly. "NASHVILLE STAR" AUDITIONS IN VEGAS! On November 23rd 2003, Matt's song "Dreams" was performed by Marie Hickey in the third round of the "Nashville Star" auditions. Marie did a great job on the song. Remember that name, because Marie Hickey is a future superstar country singer. Also performed in the auditions, making it to the second round, was Matt's song "Another You", performed by local artist Gary Dalton. Gary is a great entertainer, and someday hopes to make it to the top with his strong vocals and awsome stage presence. Matt's song "Daddy's Here" was performed in the first round by Bobby Kingston. Bobby is a great singer, and fronts the local band "Bobby K and Country Tradition". He can yodel like the masters. "Daddy's Here" and "Where The Angels Fly" are two songs coming out on future Bobby K cd releases. Jenny Phorr, a great singer from Denver, Colorado, is currently pitching her demo in Nashville, which includes four Matt Dorman songs. Go get 'em, Jen!!! Good luck! Randy Anderson's next c.d., due out around March first, will include a song co-written by Matt Dorman and Randy Anderson, called "Lucky Guy". The cd is titled "Hello Everybody.....We're Back!" The Randy Anderson Band can be found performing all over town, at venue's including Sam's Town, Arizona Charlies, and more. The band has performed all over the U.S. and has opened for some major acts like Brooks and Dunn, and more! They have a must-see live show! For Randy's schedule information, call 702.645.6426 Randy and Matt have shared success in the past with releases that have made the charts in Europe, and in the U.S. One song in particular that did real well is "Another You". Written by Matt, this song can be found on Randy's "Loving You Up" cd.. Matt has three songs on that cd. One of the three, "Another Man's Castle" is co-written by Matt and Randy.
